History
In the courtyard, behind the gateway, there was a well which has been closed and whose rim was razed. The Renaissance sculptures, set against the wall, have been preserved. A niche in hemicycle vaulted with a quarter sphere. The conch is divided by radiating courses of brick and stone meeting at the level of the shell. The niche is flanked by two shafts of stone, fluted, with Attic base. Above the bosses, two Ionic capitals bear an entablature. In the middle of the entablature is placed a tablet framed by two acanthus scrolls. The entablature carries a curved pediment, tracing an abrupt counter-curve which is interrupted to be adorned with a fleuron making room for a spherical vase.
