History
Wooden houses, numerous in the Middle Ages, have disappeared either destroyed by fire, or replaced by more luxurious buildings. This house was built in the last years of the 16th century, by Guillaume de Saint-Germain, capitoul in 1589. The courtyard presents three storeys of galleries bordered by wooden balusters. Two staircases with straight stringers, bearing balusters similar to those of the galleries, are shown at the angles, diagonally across the courtyard. Sculptures of the windows on the two traditional storeys of small columns. The upper frame rests on pilasters. The sculptures of the doors are decorated with the monogram of Christ in cartouches surrounded by fleurons.
