Historique
L'hôtel a sans doute été édifié pendant la vie parlementaire de Jehan de Mausencal. La tour de l'hôtel est l'une des plus hautes de la ville (30m). Dans la cour, les façades sont couronnées d'arcatures rappelant les mâchicoulis, et s'éclairent par des fenêtres en colonnettes entourées de cadres à crossettes. La tour y prend son départ, et est flanquée d'une tourelle ronde sur trompe. Carrée à l'extérieur, la tour abrite un escalier aux parois circulaires. L'escalier à vis se termine par un pilier corinthien d'où s'élancent huit nervures soutenant une voûte cylindrique avec liernes et tiercerons. La tour se termine par une terrasse formant mirande. Dans la cour, une galerie joint les deux corps de logis. Elle est formée de deux arcatures inégales dans lesquelles s'encadrent les fenêtres.

History
The hotel was no doubt built during the parliamentary life of Jehan de Mausencal. The tower of the hotel is one of the highest in the city (30m). In the courtyard, the façades are crowned with arcading recalling machicolations, and are lit by windows with small columns surrounded by frames with consoles. The tower rises from there, and is flanked by a small round turret on a squinch. Square on the outside, the tower contains a staircase with circular walls. The spiral staircase is terminated by a Corinthian pillar from which eight ribs rise supporting a cylindrical vault with liernes and tiercerons. The tower ends with a terrace forming a belvedere. In the courtyard, a gallery connects the two main dwelling blocks. It is formed of two unequal arcades in which the windows are framed.
