Au 16e siècle, le terrain était occupé par huit immeubles. En 1593, tous les immeubles furent réunis par messire Christophe de Lestang, évêque de Lodève, qui fit construire l'hôtel actuel. La façade sur la rue s'ouvre par un grand portail du 18e, avec alternance de brique et de pierre créant des bossages. Des pilastres doriques reçoivent un entablement avec deux consoles correspondant aux pilastres. Au centre, un écusson martelé à la Révolution. Le tout est surmonté d'un motif constitué par une plaque de marbre noir portant une inscription, épaulée par un rinceau avec écoinçon garni de feuillages, et coiffé d'un fronton triangulaire. Sur la place s'étale la façade du 17e siècle, dont la fenêtres ont été falsifiées par une imitation d'assises de pierre alternées, en rappel du portail.

History
In the 16th century, the ground was occupied by eight buildings. In 1593, all the buildings were united by the lord Christophe de Lestang, bishop of Lodève, who had the present hotel constructed. The façade on the street opens through a large gateway of the 18th century, with alternation of brick and stone creating rustications. Doric pilasters receive an entablement with two consoles corresponding to the pilasters. At the centre, a shield defaced during the Revolution. The whole is surmounted by a motif constituted by a plaque of black marble bearing an inscription, supported by a scroll with an ecoinçon filled with foliage, and crowned with a triangular pediment. On the square spreads the façade of the 17th century, whose windows have been falsified by an imitation of alternated stone ashlar courses, in recollection of the gateway.
