L'hôtel a été construit en 1836 par les architectes Bonnal et Raynaud sur l'ancienne bourse des marchands, installée en 1781 dans l'hôtel de Bastard. En 1834, la municipalité demanda à l'Etat la cession à la ville de l'ancien couvent des Bénédictins de la Daurade, occupé par l'administration des Tabacs. L'autorité refusant, la construction d'un édifice sur la place de la Bourse fut décidée. C'est un important bâtiment de briques roses, à deux registres. Le soubassement est rythmé par quatre larges ouvertures en plein cintre séparées par des pilastres contreforts. Au premier étage, de grandes porte-fenêtres surmontées d'un plein cintre, sont rythmées par des colonnes ioniques supportant une corniche avec un large attique. Cet édifice est un exemple intéressant d'architecture de type palladienne, d'importation italienne, phénomène assez rare à Toulouse à la fin du 19e siècle.

History
The hotel was built in 1836 by the architects Bonnal and Raynaud on the former merchants' exchange, installed in 1781 in the Hôtel de Bastard. In 1834, the municipality asked the State for the transfer to the city of the former Benedictine convent of La Daurade, occupied by the Tobacco administration. The authority refusing, the construction of a building on the Place de la Bourse was decided. It is a substantial building of pink bricks, with two registers. The base is punctuated by four wide round-arched openings separated by pilaster buttresses. On the first floor, large French windows surmounted by a round arch are punctuated by Ionic columns supporting a cornice with a wide attic. This building is an interesting example of Palladian-type architecture, of Italian importation, a fairly rare phenomenon in Toulouse at the end of the 19th century.
