History
In 1257, the bastide was created by Alphonse of Poitiers to whom the Hospitallers ceded high jurisdiction over the territory. The bastide has retained its central square with four regular sides and bordered by arcades. The far end of the square consists of houses with a roof of the same style as the town hall. The east side is occupied by the town hall buildings: a classical hotel with a façade on arcades divided into three by Corinthian pilasters. To the right of the town hall is a former timber-framed house. Another timber-framed house with brick infill is found at the west corner.
