Historique
Le château est construit de 1743 à 1759 selon les plans établis par le propriétaire, Henri-Auguste, marquis de Chalvet-Rochemonteix. L'édifice en briques est bâti selon un plan en U. L'aile d'apparat est bordée par une terrasse qui domine le parc, organisé selon des dessins de Le Nôtre. Dans la cour en U, l'aile Est est soulignée par un avant-corps central en hémicycle, surmonté d'un fronton triangulaire. Sur l'aile sud, côté sud, légère avancée d'un avant-corps central surmonté d'un fronton curviligne. A l'intérieur, l'aile Est propose une enfilade de pièces d'apparat avec, au centre, le salon chinois décoré par Pins. Au premier étage se trouve la bibliothèque. History
The château was built from 1743 to 1759 according to plans drawn up by the owner, Henri-Auguste, marquis de Chalvet-Rochemonteix. The brick building is constructed according to a U-shaped plan. The main wing is bordered by a terrace which overlooks the park, laid out according to designs by Le Nôtre. In the U-shaped courtyard, the eastern wing is emphasized by a central avant-corps in hemicycle form, surmounted by a triangular pediment. On the south wing, on the south side, a slight projection of a central avant-corps surmounted by a curved pediment. Inside, the eastern wing offers an enfilade of state rooms with, at the centre, the Chinese drawing room decorated by Pins. On the first floor is the library. This building is characteristic of the art of building with brick in the Toulouse region to the south.
