Historique
En 1283, l'abbé Taillefer, supérieur de l'abbaye cistercienne de Nizors, fonda la bastide de Boulogne. Elle fut bâtie sur le modèle de toutes les bastides : église au centre et place publique entourée d'arcades. L'église fut commencée vers cette époque, mais terminée plus tard. Elle était autrefois sur plan rectangulaire. Des chapelles latérales ont été ajoutées au 15e siècle. La base de la tour carrée forme porche voûté, soutenu par de gros piliers carrés. History
In 1283, Abbot Taillefer, superior of the Cistercian abbey of Nizors, founded the bastide of Boulogne. It was built on the model of all bastides: church in the centre and public square surrounded by arcades. The church was begun around this time, but completed later. It was formerly of rectangular plan. Lateral chapels were added in the 15th century. The base of the square tower forms a vaulted porch, supported by large square pillars. The spire which surmounts the bell tower was destroyed by lightning in 1883, and rebuilt in 1890. The lower part is one of the rare testimonies to the architecture of bastides of the 14th century.
