Historique
Le premier monastère de Nant aurait été fondé au 7e siècle par Saint-Amand, au Vican, puis reconstruit à la fin du 10e siècle huit cents mètres plus bas. La chapelle ne paraît pas antérieure au 12e siècle et aurait servi de paroisse après le départ des moines. La nef est construite en calcaire ; le choeur et l'abside en tuf. La couverture est en lauzes calcaires posées directement sur les voûtes.

History
The first monastery of Nant is said to have been founded in the 7th century by Saint-Amand, at the Vican, then rebuilt at the end of the 10th century eight hundred metres lower down. The chapel does not appear to be earlier than the 12th century and would have served as a parish after the departure of the monks. The nave is constructed in limestone; the choir and the apse in tufa. The roof is in limestone slabs laid directly on the vaults.
