Historique

History
The castle, which has belonged to a family of lords since the 12th century, is cantonned with six towers (two hexagonal in the middle of the two front and rear façades, four round ones at each corner). The central tower of the south façade, which contains the staircase, is pierced at ground level by a door of radiating Gothic style. The typically feudal and defensive character of the castle is somewhat attenuated by the existence of late windows pierced on three floors. The defensive system with which it was surrounded (enclosure, moat, fortifications) has disappeared, replaced by two wings of outbuildings doubtless from the 17th century. Inside, the ground floor has retained its kitchen intact, with the grilled platform where the musicians were placed (rare). The chapel retains décor painted by Debert in 1709.
