Historique
Le château est connu dès le 13e siècle. Bâti sur un plan quadrangulaire enfermant une cour intérieure oblongue et étroite, selon une disposition assez commune dans les demeures de cette partie du Rouergue, le château a été très remanié au cours des siècles : fossés comblés, mâchicoulis démantelés, baies élargies, restauration du décor intérieur. Une tour ronde cantonne l'angle sud-ouest. La façade nord est flanquée d'une tour carrée à demi engagée. Deux tourelles cantonnent l'angle nord-est. A l'angle sud-ouest s'élève un pavillon en saillie, sans doute les restes de l'ancien donjon. L'entrée, à l'origine sur la face Est, a été réaménagée au 17e siècle : porte en anse de panier entre deux pilastres, escalier tournant à droite.

History
The castle is known from the 13th century. Built on a quadrangular plan enclosing an oblong and narrow inner courtyard, according to a layout fairly common in the dwellings of this part of Rouergue, the castle has been very much altered in the course of centuries: ditches filled in, machicolations dismantled, openings enlarged, restoration of interior decoration. A round tower brackets the south-west angle. The north façade is flanked by a square tower half engaged. Two turrets bracket the north-east angle. At the south-west angle rises a projecting pavilion, no doubt the remains of the old keep. The entrance, originally on the east face, was remodelled in the 17th century: basket-handle arch doorway between two pilasters, spiral staircase to the right.
