L'église est mentionnée pour la première fois en 823. Le roi Pépin prend sous sa protection l'abbaye de Conques, confirme ses donations et y ajoute de nouvelles, dont l'église de Saint-Loup. Cette dernière passe ensuite sous la juridiction de l'abbé de Figeac. L'édifice se compose d'une nef terminée par un chevet plat et encadrée par deux chapelles latérales. La nef est précédée d'un petit porche rajouté. Les ogives du chevet tombent sur des culots coniques dont certains ont été sculptés, représentant des écussons ou des visages humains.

History
The church is first mentioned in 823. King Pépin took the abbey of Conques under his protection, confirmed its donations and added new ones, including the church of Saint-Loup. The latter then passed under the jurisdiction of the Abbot of Figeac. The building consists of a nave terminated by a flat chevet and framed by two side chapels.
