History
The double keep and double fortification still discernible testify to a medieval defensive organization. A bastion protected the entrance in chicane of the castle, while the second fortification, still crenellated, retains traces along its course of the implantation of an old wooden wall walk and of murder holes. The two keeps and their defence were designed on the location best defended by the precipice. The old chapel, in ruins, is found at the foot of the north-east bastion. It comprised a single nave vaulted in timber framing, a choir vaulted in barrel vault and an apse in cul de four.
