Historique

History
Spa resort whose springs have been known since the 15th century and were developed by Louis de Fraxine for humanitarian purposes. The buildings comprised six baths and two fountains. Louis de Fraxine donated them to the hospices of Pamiers in 1787. The resort only flourished in the middle of the 19th century. A new establishment was built between 1845 and 1855, by engineer François and architect Durrieux. It is a long neoclassical building preceded by a portico, flanked by two pavilions featuring the same play of arcades and decorated, beneath the frieze of scrollwork running across the entire building, with two antique-style bas-reliefs. On the gallery open forty bathing cabins whose marble bathtubs from Carrara have disappeared.
