Historique
Thiezac comportait un prieuré ayant appartenu au chapitre de la cathédrale de Clermont qui dépendait, en 1315, de l'abbaye d'Aurillac. L'édifice a été construit au 15e siècle, avec modification du porche à une époque indéterminée. L'édifice est formé d'une nef de trois travées rectangulaires symétriquement accostées de chapelles latérales, et d'un choeur terminé par une abside à pans coupés que précède une travée droite au nord de laquelle s'élève le clocher. Le porche actuel reprend un culot sculpté d'un masque humain qui a pu appartenir au porche primitif. Il abrite un portail ouvrant sous un arc brisé à quatre voussures garnies de boudins dégagés par des cavets retombant, par l'intermédiaire de chapiteaux prismatiques, sur des colonnettes de même profil posées sur des bases polygonales. History
Thiezac comprised a priory which had belonged to the chapter of the cathedral of Clermont and depended, in 1315, on the abbey of Aurillac. The building was constructed in the 15th century, with modification of the porch at an indeterminate date. The building is formed of a nave of three rectangular bays symmetrically flanked by lateral chapels, and a choir terminated by an apse with chamfered pans preceded by a straight bay to the north of which rises the bell tower. The present porch incorporates a corbel sculptured with a human mask which may have belonged to the original porch. It shelters a portal opening under a pointed arch with four mouldings garnished with roll mouldings disengaged by cavetti returning, by means of prismatic capitals, onto colonnettes of the same profile placed on polygonal bases. It is framed by two pilasters receiving an archivolt whose mouldings describe an ogee point at the key.
