Historique
Salins possédait au 12e siècle un sanctuaire qui dépendait de la mense de l'abbaye de la Chaise-Dieu. L'église primitive se composait d'une nef prolongée par un sanctuaire et précédée d'un clocher porche. Le chevet, la nef et le porche doivent, pour l'essentiel, remonter à la fin du 12e siècle. Trois chapelles doivent remonter au début du 12e. La quatrième chapelle remonte à la fin du 18e siècle. History
Salins possessed in the 12th century a sanctuary which depended on the mensa of the abbey of la Chaise-Dieu. The primitive church was composed of a nave prolonged by a sanctuary and preceded by a porch tower. The chevet, the nave and the porch must, for the most part, date back to the end of the 12th century. Three chapels must date back to the beginning of the 12th century. The fourth chapel dates back to the end of the 18th century. Roman vaults have been replaced by an ogival vault in the apse, and a vault currently in brick in the nave. The porch is formed of three broken arches resting on columns. The bell wall, pierced by a window at its base, ornamented with a band, at the bottom of the two sound holes of its gable, terminates in a roof. This church presents the typical silhouette of the rural sanctuaries of the region.
