Historique
Hospice bâti en 1734 pour loger les prêtres chargés de prêcher des missions dans la région des hautes montagnes d'Auvergne. Il fut confisqué à la Révolution, puis vendu en 1796 avant d'être racheté par les pères missionnaires de Clermont. La chapelle est datée de 1767. Elle est constituée d'une superposition de pilastres aux chapiteaux s'apparentant au style corinthien. Groupés par paires, ces pilastres sont situés à chaque extrémité de la façade. Un fronton triangulaire couronne l'ensemble. L'édifice se compose de trois travées séparées par des doubleaux reposant sur des pilastres ornés de chapiteaux. History
Hospice built in 1734 to house priests charged with preaching missions in the region of the high mountains of Auvergne. It was confiscated at the Revolution, then sold in 1796 before being repurchased by the missionary fathers of Clermont. The chapel is dated 1767. It is constituted of a superposition of pilasters with capitals resembling the Corinthian style. Grouped in pairs, these pilasters are situated at each extremity of the facade. A triangular pediment crowns the whole. The edifice is composed of three bays separated by doubleaux resting on pilasters decorated with capitals. The choir opens onto an abside with cut angles. The adjoining hospice comprises an ordinary storey and an attic storey. The windows possess a lintel constituted by assembled arches. The entrance door, slightly raised, gives access to the vestibule where a wooden staircase rises over two storeys.
