Historique

History
The consuls of Saint-Flour (instituted since 1249) were first installed near the cathedral. After acquiring various houses, they combined them from 1430 to 1439 to install the town hall there (an inscription POYETAL gives the name of the architect). At the Revolution, the building is sold to private individuals. After the war of 1914-1918, the hotel is repurchased by Alfred Douhet, collector. He bequeathed at his death the whole to the Caisse d'Epargne, which established the Douhet museum in 1968. Ensemble consisting of three buildings in U around an interior courtyard. Discreet sculptural decoration which uses Renaissance vocabulary.
