Historique
Abbaye cistercienne fondée en 1173, désaffectée à la Révolution, et ruinée par deux incendies en 1857 et 1872. Presque toutes les pierres de paille servirent à construire le village voisin. A cette époque, l'abbaye se composait d'une église en croix latine avec une nef, des bas-côtés, deux chapelles dans les transepts. Quatre colonnes à chapiteaux supportaient les voûtes romanes du 12e siècle. Les bâtiments de l'abbaye, de forme rectangulaire, comprenaient une façade et deux ailes parallèles encadrant une cour carrée dont l'église constituait le quatrième côté. Deux tourelles carrées flanquaient la façade. Le cloître au niveau de la cour était formé d'arcades en plein cintre supportées par deux colonnettes accouplées. History
Cistercian abbey founded in 1173, deconsecrated at the Revolution, and ruined by two fires in 1857 and 1872. Almost all the rubble stone served to build the neighbouring village. At that time, the abbey was composed of a church in Latin cross with a nave, aisles, two chapels in the transepts. Four columns with capitals supported the Romanesque rib vaults of the 12th century. The abbey buildings, of rectangular form, comprised a façade and two parallel wings framing a square courtyard of which the church formed the fourth side. Two square turrets flanked the façade. The cloister at the level of the courtyard was formed of round-arch arcades supported by two paired colonnettes. The gallery to the south displayed the Romanesque style; the arcades to the side displayed the Gothic style of the late 13th century.
