Historique

History
Contemporary with the imperial chalets, this guard pavilion was, according to tradition, intended to receive petitions addressed to Napoleon III. A mixture of neo-gothic (elevations) and Savoyard style (overhanging roof structure), it resembles the Parisian pavilions built at the same period in different parks, and constitutes a unique example of this type of garden building in the region. This project was established in 1864 by Delafosse, engineer of bridges and highways. Of rectangular plan, it comprises a ground floor and a storey under roof space. It includes two gable walls and two eaves walls. The windows are divided by a stone mullion surmounted by a double ogee arch drawn on the face of the lintel.
