The castle was built between 1876 and 1878 in a style mixing neo-Gothic and neo-Renaissance. A single elongated building body, with the south-west part slightly widened, and the pentagonal chevet of the chapel, opposite, on the left part of the side façade. On the main façade, a turret forms the angle with the side façade, rising to the height of the first and second storeys. This terminates in corbelling towards the bottom and is capped with a conical roof. The decorative scheme adopted for this façade is the same as that of the so-called "Louis XIII" châteaux: a play of colours between brick, stone and slate. The right part of this façade is occupied on its ground floor by the chapel, marked by the presence of three windows terminated by a pointed arch surmounted by an archivolt resting on capitals with foliage. The chevet is adorned with a balcony with balusters separated by Gothic arches. At the four upper angles of this balcony rise four pinnacles, and at the four lower angles four gargoyles. The façade opposite to the main façade presents a door surmounted by a tympanum bounded by a rounded Gothic arch, adorned with a pinnacle and crockets representing stylised foliage and resting on capitals formed of vegetal motifs. Inside, the entrance gallery has a French ceiling reinforced with iron rods; a fireplace imitating medieval fireplaces, with a very high mantelpiece; four doors of two panels adorned with a frieze of quadrilobed medallions, all beneath a kind of moulded archivolt resting on capitals adorned with foliage. The spiral staircase allowing access to the first storey is contained within a cage with round arches and massive pillars visibly inspired by medieval style. The same applies to the handrail, with balusters separated by pointed arches with foil. This edifice is a pastiche of both Gothic style and Louis XIII style. Its construction makes it a testimony to Romantic architecture in Bourbonnais.
