Historique
Eglise du 12e siècle, remaniée à diverses époques, qui se compose d'une nef sans bas-côtés, d'un transept et d'un chevet tréflé. La nef semble de construction postérieure à celle du chevet, ou a dû subir des modifications à une époque plus récente. La croisée du transept est couverte par une voûte à oculus du 14e siècle, dont les arcs retombent sur les chapiteaux sculptés des demi colonnes engagées des piles. Le chevet se compose de trois absides demi circulaires, voûtées en cul-de-four, groupées en trèfle et donnant sur un carré voûté en berceau formant le choeur. L'abside orientale est décorée de cinq arcades supportées par des chapiteaux sculptés. History
Church of the 12th century, remodelled at various periods, which comprises a nave without aisles, a transept and a trefoil chevet. The nave appears to be of later construction than that of the chevet, or must have undergone modifications at a more recent period. The crossing of the transept is covered by a vault with oculus from the 14th century, whose arches rest on the sculpted capitals of the half columns engaged in the piers. The chevet comprises three semicircular apses, vaulted in cul-de-four, grouped in trefoil and opening onto a square vaulted in barrel vault forming the choir. The eastern apse is decorated with five arcades supported by sculpted capitals. This arrangement of plan is a singularity, resembling certain very ancient churches of Rome, and raising questions about the influences undergone by Romanesque art in Bourbonnais. The entrance door was remodelled in the 15th century.
