Le clocher représente le dernier vestige de l'église du chapitre de Saint-Sauveur d'Hérisson, datant du 12e siècle. Le dernier étage et la flèche sont des réfections de la fin du 17e siècle. Au-dessous, les ouvertures, en particulier le portail, ont été remaniées. Du côté est, subsiste l'arc brisé qui donnait sur la nef. En 1651, les chanoines durent quitter l'église en raison de son mauvais état. En 1687, la flèche fut détruite par un ouragan et rétablie en 1689.

History
The bell tower represents the last vestige of the church of the chapter of Saint-Sauveur d'Hérisson, dating from the 12th century. The last storey and the spire are repairs from the late 17th century. Below, the openings, in particular the portal, have been remodelled. On the east side, there remains the pointed arch which gave onto the nave. In 1651, the canons had to leave the church because of its poor condition. In 1687, the spire was destroyed by a hurricane and restored in 1689.
