Le château de Bordes est un exemple caractéristique des petits châteaux du 15e siècle qui subsistent dans le Bourbonnais. Il est composé d'un donjon à quatre étages, auxquels on accède par un escalier à vis, situé au nord d'une tourelle octogonale. Des bâtiments plus récents sont situés à droite et à gauche du donjon et forment ailes encadrant une cour. Deux tours sont situées à l'extrémité de ces ailes, celle de droite abrite une petite chapelle, celle de gauche, effondrée, un pigeonnier. A l'intérieur, les cheminées du 15e siècle ont été presque toutes revêtues au 17e siècle de boiseries peintes.

History
The castle of Bordes is a characteristic example of the small castles of the 15th century which survive in Bourbonnais. It is composed of a four-storey keep, which are reached by a spiral staircase, situated to the north of an octagonal turret. More recent buildings are situated to the right and left of the keep and form wings framing a courtyard. Two towers are situated at the end of these wings, the one on the right houses a small chapel, the one on the left, collapsed, a dovecote. Inside, the fireplaces of the 15th century have been almost all faced in the 17th century with painted woodwork.
