History
Built at the end of the 16th century, this château is a construction of entirely medieval spirit, quite characteristic of the region. It consists of a rectangular-plan building flanked by a large tower and three corner turrets. Most of the mullioned and transomed openings appear to be of modern date. The main door of the East façade is of first Renaissance style. An upper covered gallery features machicolations united by lintels lightened by ogee arches. This edifice constitutes a good testimony to the fortified houses of Velay.
