Si la commune est mentionnée dans des documents remontant à 1034, aucune date n'a encore été trouvée situant la construction des fortifications. Celles qui subsistent semblent dater du 14e siècle. Des cinq portes, trois seulement subsistent : celles du nord, du sud et de l'ouest. La porte du nord conserve ses mâchicoulis mais a perdu son crénelage. L'arc apparaît sans moulures ni sculptures. Seul un chanfrein abattant les angles orne l'appareil de cette porte. Un arc de décharge se remarque au-dessus, dominé par une archère qui avait un accès direct au chemin de ronde qui existe encore sur l'autre face. Il devait y avoir, en continuation, des mâchicoulis constituant, avec leurs créneaux, la défense de la porte, et une échauguette à l'angle oriental. La maison qui touche la porte à l'intérieur des remparts, possède encore une ouverture gothique tréflée.

History
If the commune is mentioned in documents dating back to 1034, no date has yet been found situating the construction of the fortifications. Those which remain appear to date from the 14th century. Of the five gates, only three remain: those of the north, south and west. The north gate retains its machicolations but has lost its crenellation. The arch appears without mouldings or sculptures. Only a chamfer cutting the angles adorns the masonry of this gate. A relieving arch is noticed above, dominated by an arrow-loop which had direct access to the parapet walk which still exists on the other face. There must have been, in continuation, machicolations constituting, with their crenelles, the defence of the gate, and a watchtower at the eastern angle. The house which touches the gate inside the ramparts still possesses a trefoil Gothic opening.
