Historique
Edifice dû à l'architecte Martellange. Le plan est dérivé du type basilical. Il est formé d'une grande nef couverte de voûtes d'arêtes et d'un petit bas-côté garni de chapelles. Le choeur est sensiblement plus étroit que la nef, de forme rectangulaire et couvert d'une voûte affectant la forme d'une coupole barlongue. Il est flanqué de chaque côté d'une petite sacristie contenue dans le volume général de l'édifice. Le transept est marqué par une travée plus large, couverte d'une coupole. La façade est divisée en deux étages. Le rez-de-chaussée est décoré de colonnes doriques avec entablement surmonté d'un fronton. Le parti général du plan, la qualité des proportions de l'élévation et la belle exécution de la construction mettent en lumière l'esprit d'invention et le talent d'un artiste dont l'influence fut décisive sur l'évolution de l'architecture religieuse au 17e siècle.

History
Building due to the architect Martellange. The plan is derived from the basilical type. It is formed of a great nave covered with groin vaults and a small aisle furnished with chapels. The choir is considerably narrower than the nave, of rectangular form and covered with a vault affecting the form of a barlong dome. It is flanked on each side by a small sacristy contained within the general volume of the building. The transept is marked by a wider bay, covered with a dome. The façade is divided into two storeys. The ground storey is decorated with Doric columns with entablature surmounted by a pediment. The general planning, the quality of the proportions of the elevation and the fine execution of the construction throw into relief the spirit of invention and the talent of an artist whose influence was decisive on the evolution of religious architecture in the 17th century.
