Historique
Ce château du 15e siècle se présente comme un rectangle flanqué à chacun de ses angles d'une tour ronde élevée. Il était entouré d'une deuxième enceinte comprenant tours et courtines. Le bâtiment accolé en saillie à la face nord comprend deux pièces séparées qui pouvaient servir de latrines. Les moëllons et la maçonnerie semblent indiquer trois époques de construction, superposées en hauteur. La partie inférieure pourrait remonter au 12e ou 13e siècle. Le château ne comportait aucune cour intérieure. Son entrée paraît avoir été située au sud-ouest, protégée par une sorte de barbacane. La tour d'angle nord-ouest et celle du sud-ouest conservent des vestiges de peintures du 16e siècle, représentant des scènes de chasse, des amours et des arabesques pour la première ; des scènes religieuses du début du 17e siècle pour la seconde. History
This 15th-century castle presents itself as a rectangle flanked at each of its corners by a tall round tower. It was surrounded by a second enclosure comprising towers and curtain walls. The building projecting on the north face comprises two separate rooms which could serve as latrines. The rubble stone and masonry appear to indicate three periods of construction, superimposed in height. The lower part could go back to the 12th or 13th century. The castle contained no interior courtyard. Its entrance appears to have been located to the southwest, protected by a sort of barbican. The north-west corner tower and that of the south-west retain vestiges of paintings from the 16th century, representing hunting scenes, amours and arabesques for the first; religious scenes from the early 17th century for the second. The building was dismantled in 1794.
