Historique
Abbaye régie par la règle de Saint-Benoît, dotée d'une église abbatiale du 14e siècle grâce au pape Clément VI, ancien moine casadéen, et de fortifications. La tour Clémentine fut construite vers 1370. La partie du cloître qui longe l'église et la bibliothèque date de 1394. Une autre campagne de travaux fut consacrée au logis abbatial, au 15e siècle, puis au réfectoire et aux autres constructions du cloître jusqu'en 1518. A côté de l'église abbatiale et du monastère médiéval, de nouveaux bâtiments conventuels furent élevés aux 17e et 18e siècles par les Mauristes, réformateurs de l'abbaye. Cet ensemble ordonnancé est représentatif des grandes conceptions monastiques classiques.

History
Abbey governed by the Rule of Saint-Benedict, endowed with an abbatial church of the 14th century thanks to Pope Clement VI, a former Casadean monk, and fortifications. The Clementine tower was built around 1370. The part of the cloister running along the church and the library dates from 1394. Another campaign of works was devoted to the abbatial dwelling, in the 15th century, then to the refectory and other cloister buildings until 1518. Beside the abbatial church and medieval monastery, new conventional buildings were erected in the 17th and 18th centuries by the Maurists, reformers of the abbey. This ordered ensemble is representative of great classical monastic conceptions.
