Historique

History
The church preserves its original Romanesque structure (supports of the nave). In the 12th century, a priory was founded depending on the Benedictine abbey of Port-Dieu in Limousin. In the Gothic period (15th century), the church was rebuilt almost entirely. The Romanesque supports of the nave were preserved (columns, capitals, barrel vault doublets in pointed form), however, a Gothic choir was added, the external facings redone, with the opening of a portal with splay mouldings to the south. In 1719, the prior bequeaths his establishment to the junior seminary of Clermont. The bell tower was rebuilt in 1872-1873 (plans by Seve). The stained glass was made in 1886 by Félix Gaudin. Plan with single nave of two bays, choir with polygonal apse and semi-circular chevet. Bell tower to the west, on narthex. The bell tower comprises three levels, the second being occupied by a gallery. The nave is vaulted in continuous pointed barrel vault; the choir is rib-vaulted with nervures resting on figured corbels.
