Le haut du quartier du Port comportait de nombreux logis nobles et bourgeois dès la fin du Moyen-Age. Le transfert de la cour des Aides à Clermont en 1630 attisa la richesse du quartier et les constructions nouvelles fleurirent durant toute la deuxième moitié du 17e siècle. Cet hôtel, qui fut probablement l'un des plus considérables de la ville au 17e siècle, possède un bel escalier d'honneur en volvic et un certain nombre de pièces qui ont conservé leurs boiseries et leurs cheminées des 17e et 18e siècles. History
The upper part of the Port district comprised many noble and bourgeois dwellings from the late Middle Ages. The transfer of the Court of Aids to Clermont in 1630 fueled the wealth of the district and new constructions flourished throughout the entire second half of the 17th century. This hotel, which was probably one of the most considerable in the town in the 17th century, possesses a fine grand staircase in volvic and a number of rooms which have retained their paneling and fireplaces from the 17th and 18th centuries. The building has retained the elements of its original structure.
