Replacée au centre d'une vasque servant de fontaine, cette croix en lave du 16e siècle présente un fût galbé en forme de balustre, lequel est garni, à son renflement, de feuillages plats de la Renaissance au-dessous desquels une inscription en relief relate les circonstances et la date de son érection (1535). Au centre de la hauteur du fût se détachent, en haut relief, des enfants portant un écusson. La croix proprement dite a ses branches terminées par des choux frisés. Son nimbe est formé de têtes d'anges et de têtes de mort. Sur une face se trouve représenté le Christ ; sur l'autre la Vierge mère. Un petit soubassement, séparant la croix de son fût, est flanqué de quatre personnages.

History
Placed at the centre of a basin serving as a fountain, this lava cross from the 16th century features a baluster-shaped shaft, which is adorned, at its swelling, with flat Renaissance foliage below which an inscription in relief recounts the circumstances and date of its erection (1535). At the centre of the height of the shaft stand out, in high relief, children bearing a shield. The cross properly speaking has its branches terminated by curled cabbages. Its nimbus is formed of angels' heads and death's heads. On one face is represented Christ; on the other the Virgin Mother. A small base, separating the cross from its shaft, is flanked by four figures.
