Historique
Croix en pierre de Volvic, composée d'une base carrée de laquelle part un fût cylindrique renforcé de quatre contreforts terminés par des pinacles. Entre les contreforts, sur chaque face, se trouve une niche contenant une statuette d'époque. Sur la croix, dans un quadrilatère curviligne, sont représentés d'un côté le Christ, de l'autre une Pieta. Sur le fût, au-dessous des niches, se trouve l'écu de la famille Rochebriant.£La légende veut que Saint-Amable naquit en ce lieu. La tradition rapporte que cette croix était dans un château seigneurial, qu'elle fût renversée et mutilée à la Révolution. En 1824, elle fût retrouvée dans une haie formant buisson à l'entrée du château démoli.

History
Cross in Volvic stone, composed of a square base from which springs a cylindrical shaft reinforced by four buttresses terminated by pinnacles. Between the buttresses, on each face, is found a niche containing a statuette from the period. On the cross, in a curvilinear quadrilateral, are represented on one side the Christ, on the other a Pieta. On the shaft, below the niches, is found the escutcheon of the Rochebriant family. Legend has it that Saint-Amable was born in this place. Tradition reports that this cross was in a seigneurial castle, that it was overturned and mutilated at the Revolution. In 1824, it was found again in a hedge forming a bush at the entrance to the demolished castle.
