Le prieuré de Sauviat devait dater des premières années du 14e siècle et aurait été fondé par les moines de l'abbaye de Cluse en Piémont. History
The priory of Sauviat should date from the first years of the 14th century and would have been founded by the monks of the abbey of Cluse in Piedmont. The buildings, which were located to the north of the church have disappeared, the latter being the only surviving element. The building consists of a nave of five bays terminated by a five-sided apse. The two western bays would have been reserved for the laity; the other three being reserved for the religious and would have communicated with the cloister by two doors opening to the north. The north wall of the church is blank at the place where the monastery was located, and pierced by rosaces in the first three bays. Sculptured capitals.
