Cette église dépendait d'un prieuré fondé par l'abbaye d'Issoire. L'édifice comprend une partie romane : nef (11e siècle ?) et transept (12e siècle) surmonté du clocher, à laquelle fait suite un choeur à abside polygonale (15e siècle) s'ouvrant au côté sud sur une chapelle de même époque. Les dispositions sont assez caractéristiques de l'architecture romane auvergnate et montrent les tâtonnements et les recherches des constructeurs de cette école.

History
This church was dependent on a priory founded by the abbey of Issoire. The building comprises a Romanesque part: nave (11th century?) and transept (12th century) topped by the bell tower, to which is joined a choir with a polygonal apse (15th century) opening on the south side onto a chapel of the same period. The arrangements are fairly characteristic of Auvergnat Romanesque architecture and show the experiments and research of the builders of this school.
