Elevée en 1614, cette fontaine se trouvait à l'origine à l'intersection des rues de l'Horloge et de la Charité. Transportée plus tard à son emplacement actuel, elle y fut reconstituée et vraisemblablement réduite. L'ouvrage comporte un bassin circulaire et un corps central. Les côtés du bassin présentent un profil galbé entre deux larges tores. Au milieu de ce bassin circulaire s'élève le corps central, de plan triangulaire, dont chaque face présente, à partir du niveau de l'eau du bassin, un panneau au cadre rectangulaire mouluré coupé en arc de cercle à chaque angle. Dans l'intervalle de ces faces, une statue de lion est engagée dans chacun des angles. Les trois lions sont accroupis, leurs pattes antérieures posées sur les pattes postérieures pliées, le corps dressé, la tête auréolée d'une crinière tendue en avant, l'eau s'écoulant de leur gueule. Au-dessus, règne un entablement souligné d'un bandeau et d'un filet, et surmonté d'une corniche en saillie. Sur le piedestal ainsi formé est posé un socle qui supporte une urne monumentale posée en couronnement.

History
Built in 1614, this fountain was originally located at the intersection of the rue de l'Horloge and the rue de la Charité. Transported later to its present location, it was there reconstructed and presumably reduced in size. The structure comprises a circular basin and a central body. The sides of the basin present a curved profile between two wide tori. In the middle of this circular basin rises the central body, of triangular plan, each face of which presents, from the level of the water of the basin, a panel with a moulded rectangular frame cut into a circular arc at each corner. In the interval of these faces, a lion statue is engaged at each of the angles. The three lions are crouching, their front paws placed on their bent hind paws, the body upright, the head ringed with a mane stretched forward, water flowing from their mouth. Above, an entablature is outlined by a band and a fillet, and surmounted by a projecting cornice. On the pedestal thus formed is placed a base which supports a monumental urn placed as crowning feature.
