Ancien château dont une partie aurait été construite par Gilbert de Chazeron, gouverneur du Lyonnais et du bourbonnais, à la fin du 16e siècle. D'après un plan de 1793, le château avait une forme de pentagone irrégulier enveloppant une cour intérieure, disposition d'ensemble à peu près maintenue aujourd'hui. History
Former castle of which one part is said to have been built by Gilbert de Chazeron, governor of the Lyonnais and Bourbonnais, at the end of the 16th century. After 1793, the castle and park were subject to numerous transactions. The property was divided and several purchasers shared the buildings. According to a plan of 1793, the castle had the form of an irregular pentagon enclosing an interior courtyard, an overall arrangement roughly maintained today. To the west are located the structures from the end of the 16th century; to the east the parts raised at the end of the 14th century. Only the buildings closing the courtyard to the north and north-east, between the original castle and the Renaissance castle, have been deeply altered by modern modifications. The original castle consisted of a rectangular main dwelling flanked by towers at three of its angles, two of which have been demolished. On the interior courtyard, only the two windows of the first floor have retained their moulured frames of two cavets. A square staircase tower was added at the end of the 15th century, a time when the castle was restored. Inside, the main dwelling has retained, in certain rooms, parquet floors and wood panelling.
