Temple gallo-romain du 1er siècle après J-C, ancien centre de pèlerinage dont la renommée s'étendait dans toute la Gaule. Le sanctuaire se développait sur une série de terrasses, à l'intérieur d'une enceinte. Le temple lui-même se composait d'une cella carrée entourée d'un portique. Des escaliers permettaient d'accéder au péristyle. La galerie sud, qui surplombait la terrasse, reposait sur une série de niches semi-circulaires. La propriété des ruines de l'ancien temple de Mercure (anciennement propriété de l'Etat, ministère de l'éducation nationale) a été transférée au département le 29 novembre 2007.

History
Gallo-Roman temple of the 1st century after J-C, former pilgrimage centre whose renown extended throughout Gaul. The sanctuary developed over a series of terraces, within an enclosure. The temple itself consisted of a square cella surrounded by a portico. Staircases allowed access to the peristyle. The south gallery, which overhung the terrace, rested on a series of semi-circular niches. The ownership of the ruins of the former temple of Mercury (formerly property of the State, ministry of national education) was transferred to the department on 29 November 2007.
