L'ancien hôtel de Reboul s'ouvre au rez-de-chaussée par une large porte d'entrée que ferment deux lourds vantaux ornés d'un décor sculpté Louis XV. Cette entrée donne accès à un couloir voûté qui s'ouvre, par un arc en cintre, sur une cage d'escalier. L'escalier se compose de deux montées droites avec un palier intermédiaire. Le limon de la deuxième montée est soutenu par un arc rampant, formant à sa partie supérieure, avec trois arcs supportant le palier du premier étage, une retombée pendante en porte-à-faux. La rampe en fer forgé décrit, à son départ, un enroulement en forme de spirale autour d'un axe perpendiculaire surmonté d'un motif ajouré. Cette rampe est formée alternativement de deux panneaux, l'un large, l'autre étroit. Ce dernier comporte un motif central ovale encadré de deux boules. Deux motifs sont disposés symétriquement au-dessus et en-dessous : un cercle et deux enroulements en C opposés. Les grands panneaux sont également formés d'enroulements en C alternant avec des éléments rectilignes, des cercles, demi-cercles, agrémentés de feuilles recourbées, le tout ordonné symétriquement par rapport à un motif central formé d'un fleuron épanoui dont une simple barre forme le pistil allongé. La parfaite symétrie de ce décor en fer forgé, sa régularité, les imperfections d'une technique encore maladroite indiquent qu'il s'agit d'une des premières oeuvres de l'atelier de ferronnerie qui a laissé nombre de témoignages à Clermont au 18e siècle. £Les vantaux des portes s'ouvrant sur les paliers sont ornés de moulures Louis XV.

History
The former hôtel de Reboul opens on the ground floor with a large entrance door closed by two heavy leaves ornamented with sculpted Louis XV decoration. This entrance gives access to a vaulted passage which opens, by a round arch, onto a stairwell. The staircase consists of two straight flights with an intermediate landing. The string of the second flight is supported by a rampant arch, forming at its upper part, with three arches supporting the first floor landing, a hanging drop in corbel form. The wrought iron railing describes, at its departure, a scroll in spiral form around a perpendicular axis topped with a pierced motif. This railing is formed alternately of two panels, one wide, the other narrow. The latter comprises a central oval motif framed by two spheres. Two motifs are arranged symmetrically above and below: a circle and two opposed C scrolls. The large panels are likewise formed of C scrolls alternating with rectilinear elements, circles, semi-circles, embellished with curved leaves, all ordered symmetrically in relation to a central motif formed of an open floret with a simple bar forming the elongated pistil. The perfect symmetry of this wrought ironwork, its regularity, the imperfections of a still clumsy technique indicate that this is one of the earliest works of the ironwork workshop that left numerous examples in Clermont in the 18th century. The leaves of doors opening onto the landings are ornamented with Louis XV mouldings.
