Historique
L'église, consécutive aux bâtiments du prieuré qui paraissent dater du 15e siècle dans leur forme actuelle, devait dépendre de ce dernier qui relevait de l'abbaye de la Chaise-Dieu. De plan orienté, l'église se compose d'une nef du 11e siècle, d'un transept à deux croisillons et d'un choeur terminé par une abside voûtée en cul-de-four. Les murs de la nef semblent avoir été surélevés au 15e siècle dans un but défensif, comme semblent l'indiquer les vestiges de la bretèche qui occupait la partie supérieure de la façade ouest et le contrefort d'angle à deux étages en retrait flanquant cette façade. A l'angle sud-ouest de la nef sont accolés les bâtiments de l'ancien prieuré dont la plupart des ouvertures accusent le 15e siècle. Transept, choeur et clocher remontent au 18e siècle.

History
The church, built following the priory buildings which appear to date from the 15th century in their present form, must have depended on the latter which was subject to the abbey of la Chaise-Dieu. Of oriented plan, the church comprises a nave of the 11th century, a transept with two aisles and a choir terminated by an apse vaulted in cul-de-four. The walls of the nave appear to have been raised in the 15th century for defensive purposes, as seems to be indicated by the remains of the bretèche which occupied the upper part of the west façade and the two-storey setback corner buttress flanking this façade. At the south-west corner of the nave are attached the buildings of the former priory, most of whose openings show the 15th century. Transept, choir and bell tower date from the 18th century.
