History

The Kerlivio estate is characterized by the presence, in the middle of a park enclosed by walls created in the 19th century, of the three castles which succeeded one another on the site: a 15th-century manor of which only the foundations and a dovecote remain; a manor of the 17th and 18th centuries, probably built in two phases on the ruins of the previous one, flanked by stables, a hexagonal tower called the Clock tower (18th century) and an orangery also from the 18th century; finally, the current castle, built between 1820 and 1850 by the count of Perrien de Crenan. The landscape park, laid out around 1850 around the castle, is attributed to the Bühler brothers and presents all their characteristics, both in the layout of the park and in the choice of plantings.
