Historique
La croix a été élevée pour la commémoration de la victoire remportée en 890 sur les Normands par Alain le Grand, duc de Bretagne. Elle se dresse sur un socle exhaussé de deux marches avec colonnettes engagées aux angles. La pierre servant de base au fût comporte, sur ses quatre faces, des sculptures en demi relief (Christ ressuscitant ; Jonas sortant de la baleine ; Jésus portant sa croix ; Jésus aux Enfers (?) ). Un fût en granit de trois mètres supporte le motif supérieur portant, en bas relief, la crucifixion. La croix se compose d'une pierre sensiblement carrée sur son parement principal. D'un côté est sculpté le Christ en croix avec deux personnages debout à ses côtés ; de l'autre, une Pietà avec anges adorateurs. Ces deux scènes sont encadrées par des colonnettes prismatiques et surmontées d'un petit gâble à crochets.

History
The cross was raised to commemorate the victory achieved in 890 over the Normans by Alain the Great, duke of Brittany. It stands on a base raised by two steps with engaged columnettes at the angles. The stone serving as the base for the shaft comprises, on its four faces, sculptures in half relief (Christ rising; Jonas coming out of the whale; Jesus bearing his cross; Jesus in Hell (?))). A granite shaft of three metres supports the upper motif bearing, in bas relief, the crucifixion. The cross is composed of a stone substantially square on its main face. On one side is sculpted Christ on the cross with two figures standing on either side; on the other, a Pietà with adoring angels. These two scenes are framed by prismatic columnettes and surmounted by a small gable with crockets.
