Le château de Penvern est construit pour François du Perenno dans les années 1750-1770, sur les bases du manoir primitif du 15e siècle. L'aspect un peu sévère de la façade antérieure évoque l'influence des ingénieurs militaires oeuvrant à Lorient. Le logis occupe le fond d'une cour close de murets à piliers au sud et à l'ouest ; une chapelle et un pavillon de garde cantonnent la cour à l'ouest et à l'est. Le château conserve son environnement de jardin en terrasses, jardin régulier, allées en patte d'oie, étang et lavoir.

History
The château of Penvern was built for François du Perenno in the years 1750-1770, on the bases of the primitive manor of the 15th century. The somewhat severe appearance of the front façade evokes the influence of military engineers working at Lorient. The main dwelling occupies the back of a courtyard closed by low walls with pillars to the south and west; a chapel and a guard pavilion cantoned the courtyard to the west and east. The château retains its surrounding terraced garden, formal garden, paths radiating in a goosefoot pattern, pond and wash house.
