Historique

History
The castle brings together, around a courtyard of honour, buildings of different periods. Initially, it was a rectangular building which currently forms the north wing of the castle (1427). Addition of a transitional building and a large square tower. Then, a new addition of a perpendicular body of building with Renaissance dormers surmounted by a pine-cone form, a chapel and a dovecot. In 1863, this building is extended by a square pavilion and a parallel wing. The castle played a role during the taking of Rochefort-en-Terre by the Whites, in 1793. It was occupied by the Chouans who shared the weapons and the proceeds of the plundering of the public coffers of Rochefort there.
