L'établissement a été fondé en 1658 par le baron du Faouet, Sébastien du Fresnay, seigneur de Coetcodu et son épouse, Anne Petau d'Immancheville. Les lettres de confirmation d'établissement et d'amortissement sont accordées en 1681 aux Ursulines pour le fonds où s'élèvent leur église, maisons, jardins et lieux claustraux. Le couvent comprend deux corps de logis principaux en équerre, avec galerie de cloître au rez-de-chaussée ; la chapelle occupe l'angle saillant, au nord-est. Un troisième logis ancien abritant autrefois les parloirs et le logis du chapelain se greffe au nord-ouest du bâtiment nord. Des bâtiments récents prolongent les logis anciens, à l'ouest et au sud.

History
The establishment was founded in 1658 by the baron du Faouet, Sébastien du Fresnay, lord of Coetcodu and his wife, Anne Petau d'Immancheville. Letters of confirmation of establishment and mortmain are granted in 1681 to the Ursulines for the land where their church, houses, gardens and claustral buildings stand. The convent comprises two main residential blocks arranged in an L-shape, with a cloister gallery at ground level; the chapel occupies the projecting angle, to the north-east. A third old building formerly housing the parlours and the chaplain's lodging is attached to the north-west of the northern building. Recent buildings extend the old buildings to the west and south.
