History

This flour mill was constructed in 1550 (date inscribed on the western gable) at the request of Michel, lord of Rimezon and du Trest. Sold as national property in 1799, it belonged to a family of millers, the Poullic. The building is carefully constructed, in ashlar stone in large courses. A slate roof replaced the thatch, removed around 1920. The elegant finishing of the sculptured dormers in the roof space and its aesthetic qualities also justified the preservation of technical elements. Of rectangular plan on the ground floor, Rimaison does not show storage capacity in proportion to the hydraulic potential, very legible despite modifications due to the raising of the waters of the Blavet in 1862 for the improvement of navigation.
