L'ensemble manorial du Vau du Quip est constitué d'un manoir avec basse-cour et chapelle, entouré d'un mur d'enceinte. Les premières mentions de Vau du Quip et de la famille de Bogier datent du 15e siècle. L'ascension de cette famille est continue pendant la deuxième moitié du 15e siècle et le début du 16e siècle, dans le gouvernement ducal et aux plus hautes charges, ce qui explique sans doute la construction de ce très grand manoir.
