Historique
Le château des Rochers-Sévigné, résidence de campagne favorite en Bretagne de la marquise de Sévigné, est un ensemble composé d'éléments construits entre le début du 16e siècle et la fin du 19e siècle. Le logis, construit au début du 16e siècle sur un plan en équerre et dans un esprit encore gothique, a été légèrement modifié au 17e siècle (modification des baies) , puis prolongé au siècle suivant par une aile au sud, et en 1885 par un pavillon vitré. Le reste du domaine date des 17e et 18e siècles : la chapelle a été construite entre 1671 et 1675, le jardin, créé en 1689 par Charles, le fils de la marquise, a été reconstitué en 1982 selon le plan d'origine ; le tracé du parc semble dater de cette époque. En 1715, le château a été vendu aux Hay de Nétumières, qui ont fait ouvrir la cour, puis construire entre 1784 et 1789 tout un ensemble de communs de belle qualité (écuries, remises, orangerie).

History
The château des Rochers-Sévigné, favourite country residence in Brittany of the marquise de Sévigné, is a complex composed of elements built between the early 16th century and the end of the 19th century. The main dwelling, constructed in the early 16th century on an L-shaped plan and in a still Gothic spirit, was slightly altered in the 17th century (alteration of the openings), then extended in the following century by a south wing, and in 1885 by a glazed pavilion. The rest of the estate dates from the 17th and 18th centuries: the chapel was built between 1671 and 1675, the garden, created in 1689 by Charles, the son of the marquise, was reconstituted in 1982 according to the original plan; the layout of the park seems to date from this period. In 1715, the château was sold to the Hay de Nétumières, who had the courtyard opened up, then built between 1784 and 1789 a whole set of fine outbuildings (stables, carriage houses, orangery).
