Reconstruit en 1882, après un incendie, le moulin à farine du Beauchet a succédé à un moulin à marée attesté en 1542. Au début du 20e siècle, il fut transformé en minoterie, utilisant toujours la force marémotrice ; ses deux roues motrices externes, visibles sur le cadastre de 1848, furent remplacées par une turbine (avant 1930) , actionnant d'abord trois paires de meules, puis des cylindres. Construit en schiste au milieu d'une digue chevauchant la Rance et contreforté à sa base, le moulin est de dimensions moyennes, en plan rectangulaire, sur deux étages, en granit, et couvert d'ardoises. Il est flanqué de corps de bâtiment adjacents, l'un sur pilotis et à pans de bois, l'autre en béton armé. Il dispose de quatre cylindres, un trieur, une bluterie ronde, une brosse à blé, une brosse à blé-épointeuse, un séparateur et deux plansichters. Le recours à la marée a été interrompu en 1957 et l'activité a cessé en 1980.

History
Rebuilt in 1882, after a fire, the flour mill at Beauchet succeeded a tidal mill attested in 1542. In the early 20th century, it was converted into a mill, still using tidal power; its two external driving wheels, visible in the 1848 cadastre, were replaced by a turbine (before 1930), driving first three pairs of millstones, then cylinders. Built in slate in the middle of a dike astride the Rance and buttressed at its base, the mill is of average size, rectangular in plan, on two storeys in granite, and covered in slate. It is flanked by adjacent buildings, one on stilts with timber framing, the other in reinforced concrete. It has four cylinders, a sorter, a round bolter, a wheat brush, a wheat-point-removal brush, a separator and two plansichters. The use of tidal power was discontinued in 1957 and activity ceased in 1980.
