Cette maison, qui faisait partie de l'enceinte primitive, a été surnommée Maison du Cheval Blanc ou Maison de la Duchesse Anne. Suivant la tradition, la souveraine y aurait logé lorsqu'elle vint surveiller les travaux du château. Elle occupe l'emplacement de l'entrée de l'ancien Château-Gaillard démoli en 1573. History
This house, which formed part of the primitive perimeter, was given the nickname White Horse House or House of Duchess Anne. According to tradition, the sovereign would have lodged there when she came to supervise the works of the château. It occupies the location of the entrance of the old Château-Gaillard demolished in 1573. The tradition can therefore only be true if this house formed part of the Château-Gaillard. Catherine de Medici would also have stayed there in 1570. The house was burned in 1944. It presents a window with a chamfered lintel, topped by an ogee arch and some sculpted supports. It is flanked by a circular stair turret at its base, octagonal at its top, with machicolations. The lower part could be older than the upper part.
